Abstract

881,425. Moulding blocks of aerated cement &c. CHEECOL PROCESSES Ltd., and KEEBLE H. April 1, 1959 [April 1, 1958], No. 10439/58. Class 87(2). Building blocks are produced from a plastic material, e.g. aerated cement mix, by forming the mix as a continuous strip on a conveyer path which leads through one or more heating or drying stages to a cutting station where the partially hardened strip is cut into blocks which are completely hardened in at least one further heating or drying stage. Aerated cement mix is continuously fed from a mixer 1 down a shoot 7 into a U-shaped channel formed by endless belt 2 and endless side belts 6; said channel being lined with plastic strip 14, fed under guides 16 from roll 15. The mix is levelled into strip form and conveyed through tunnel 4 having heating tubes 5 at such a speed that at the end of belt section 2, 6 it is fed in partially set condition on to table 8 or which is is cut into blocks by saws 9, 10, and then fed on conveyor 12 through a tunnel 11 supplied with heating tubes 13 so that the blocks 13 are hardened to handling consistency.
