Abstract

316,057. Hollis, C. B. Oct. 10, 1928. Pneumatic conveyers. - Apparatus for conveying chips, sawdust, &c. from wood-working machines to the feed-spout 20 of a destructor furnace 21, comprises conduits 11 leading to a suction fan 12 which delivers the material to a separator 14 having two shoots 15, 16 at its lower end. The former discharges into a hopper 18 from which the fuel is fed to the furnace by a rotary valve 19, while the shoot 16 is fitted with a weighted valve 17 which allows passage of excess material from the separator to a trough 24. The latter is fitted at its lower part with a slotted pipe 26 through which the material is withdrawn by the fan 12 and returned to the separator.
