Abstract

326,932. Baumgartner, K., and Schmied, F. Jan, 26, 1929. Pneumatic conveyers.-In filling goafs &c. in mines, some or all of the filling material, such as clay or loam, is briquetted before being supplied to a pneumatic or hydraulic conveyer for transfer to the goaf f &c. where the briquettes disintegrate. The briquettes are preferably formed by means of rotating hollow moulds 1 which are heated internally by air or - steam so as to dry exterior of the briquettes. The material may be first formed into a strand or strands by plain heated rollers 6 and further heating devices 5 may be provided.
