Abstract
671,696. Hoppers. DUNNS ENGINEERING CO., Ltd. Nov. 12, 1949. No. 28772/49. Class 78 (i). [Also in Group V] The hopper 1 of a brick-making machine of the kind in which moulds travel on an endless belt beneath a hopper, e.g. as described in Specification 423,473, [Group V], has a gate 4 which is raised and lowered by rollers or projections mounted on the mould-carrying conveyer, to adjust the contour of the material deposited in the moulds. The rollers (see Fig. 3, not shown) are mounted on the link spindles of the conveyer track and engage rollers 17 connected through an adjustable linkage to the gate. The gate is spring-loaded in an upward direction. The hopper may be provided with an agitator such as that described in Specification 671,697.
