Abstract

299,072. Molins, W. E. April 22, 1927. Boxes formed from special blanks and of separate bodies combined side by side; covers.- In a cigarette or similar carton comprising two pockets A, B hinged together by a flap 4 so that the open ends of the pockets are directed towards one another when the carton is opened out in an extended condition, the pockets are held together in the closed condition, in which the flap 4 extends across the open ends of both pockets, by one or more tongues 5 formed on one of the pockets and extending at right-angles to the broad side 7 thereof, the' tongue or tongues engaging one or more T-shaped or similar slots 6 formed in the corresponding broad side 8 of the other pocket. The tongues 5 may be tapered as shown and each may be formed with a raised portion or point which locks with the slot 6. The carton shown in Fig. 3 is made from a blank as described in Specification 289,492, but the carton may be made from the blank shown in Fig. 7.
