Abstract
299,059. Detremble:ur, T. Oct. 21, 1927, [Convention date]. Rotary mixers.-In a kneading-machine in which a kneading-arm moves in a closed curve in a rotary container, the arm is operated by means of an eccentric driven through reduction gearing from an electric motor &c., the container being rotated through worm and belt gearing; the container is given a vitrified coating. As shown, the arm 21 is fixed to a member 5 one end of which is constrained by.a link 8 pivoted at 9, while the other forms part of a strap 5' embracing an eccentric 4 on a shaft 3. The shaft 3 is driven by gears 10, 11 from a shaft 12 driven in turn from the motor 14 carried on a bracket 15. The container 2 is rotated by worm gearing 28, 29 operated by an adjustable belt 16 passing round a pulley on the shaft 3. The shaft 3 may be driven by worm gearing, or the motor may be mounted on the base of the machine and drive the shaft by belt gearing. In another form, the motor is mounted to one side and drives the shaft 12 directly, the motor shaft being fitted with a pulley for the belt 16. The motor may be replaced by a power pulley.
