Abstract

296,183. Toon, C., and England, Ltd., G. July 28, 1927. Stays.-A pivotally-mounted window, windscreen and like member 5 is secured in an adjusted position by a perforated stay-bar 7 hinged at 1 so as to be lifted off a fixed pin 14, the stay having an element 11 which is movable longitudinally by means such as a screw device 18 in order to secure the pin in engagement with the stay-bar. The member 11 has perforations 13 which register with perforations 12 in the staybar, when the stay may be lifted readily off the pin 14. By operating the milled head 20 the screwed spindle 18 turns in a threaded hole in the end 17 of the member 11, which is moved longitudinally so that pin 14 in engagement with a perforation is gripped firmly. The perforation 12<a> near the pivot 1 may be elongated, as shown, in order that the screen may be drawn tightly against its seating when closed. The member 11 may be spring-operated instead of by means of a screw 18.
