Abstract

292,677. Adams, C. B. March 23, 1927. Reversing-gearing; clutches, claw.-Reversing- gearing for a tricar comprises a clutch sleeve C with internal feather teeth t, which slides on the grooved periphery of a collar B projecting radially between the bosses of wheels A<1>, A<2>, which are driven constantly in opposite directions by a bevel pinion A fast on a driving-shaft S. The sleeve C engages the wheel bosses alternatively so that the collar B is driven in either direction at will. The collar B is fast on a shaft mounted transversely on the vehicle, there being a drawing of the arrangement showing transmission to the rear wheel. The wheels A', A<2> are loosely mounted, a roller bearing T being furnished for use in forward driving. Specification 190,193 is referred to.
