Abstract

292,143. Pepinster, E. L. H., and Geneve, F. June 15, 1927, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors. - The passage at the fuel orifices 12 is varied by a, manuallyoperated valve 1 sliding on a guide 28, the parts being so shaped that the passage is largest at intermediate positions of the valve. The valve 1 normally rests on a seat 8 in which the orifices 12 are formed. Fuel is supplied from the float chamber 17 through a restricted orifice 16 and conduit 14 to an annular chamber 13 feeding the orifices 12, air compressed in the upper part 20 oi the chamber 13 assisting in ejecting the fuel at starting. The guide 28 is hollow and supplies aerated fuel for slow-running, the air being supplied through an inner tube 34 communicating with the atmosphere through an orifice 36 controlled by a valve 35, and the fuel through orifices 45 in the tube 34. and an annular well 32 connected to the conduit 14 by a passage 31.
