Winding and paying-out apparatus on portable engines and motor vehicles ; laying or guiding ropes on or off during winding or unwinding.- Cables f, g attached to a plough &c. are laid evenly on a twin-drum windlass a mounted on a tractor by means of a carriage h. The cables f, g are led round sheaves f<1>, g', respectively, mounted at the upper corners of the carriage. Rollers h<1> mounted at the lower corners of the carriage bear against a rail i carried by the frame of the tractor. Specification 292,124 is referred to.
