Abstract
513,050. Portable winches. RIGONDEAU, L. G. Dec. 22, 1937, No. 35488, Void. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1936. [Class 78 (v)] In a portable winch mounted on a wheeled carriage 1 and adapted to draw an agricultural implement to and fro across a field, ropes 33<1> and 33", connected with the implement and with winding drums 28 and 29, are passed round sheaves 34 and 36. The sheaves 36 take the tractive pull of the ropes and are mounted in a frame 37, rotatable about horizontal pivots 41 and 42 above the level of the sheaves, and connected with posts 46 embedded in the ground. The connection with each post comprises a thrust bar 48 pivoted to the frame at a ppint above its pivotal axis, and a draw chain 47 below its axis. The sheaves 36 are journalled in brackets which can be displaced along the frame 37 to enable the implement to be worked over a number of parallel furrows without moving the apparatus. The brackets are locked in adjusted position in the frame by catches 39. The drums 28 and 29 are driven by an electric motor 9 through a centrifugal clutch 11 and reducing gear 10, the drums being alternatively connected with the shaft 27 of the reducing gear by claw clutches 32 and 33.
