290,336. Schroeder, F. F. H. Feb. 9, 1927. Motors, gearing for.- An electric motor drives through speed - reducing gear a shaft 4 carrying a, driving-pulley 5. The gearing is contained in a casing formed of two parts 1, 2 spigotted together, of which one is integral with the motor casing and each carries one of a pair of ballbearings 10 in which one of the shafts of the gearing is carried. In the arrangement shown the shaft thus carried is the driving-shaft 4, but in a modification it is an intermediate shaft, and the driving-shaft is substantially in line with the Motor-shaft 3 and is carried in an extended bearing in the part 2 of the casing. In this case the outer end of the driving shaft may be supported in a plummer block carried by an eatension of the motor casing.
