Abstract
291,087. Siemens - Schuckertwerke Akt.-Ges., (Assignees of Siemens-Schuckertwerke Ges.). May 28, 1927, [Convention date]. Driving-arrangements.-In an electric motor having a centrifugal coupling, particularly a three phase motor having a squirrel-cage rotor, the rotor shaft is hollow and encloses a shaft which is coupled at one end to the motor shaft by the centrifugal clutch and is connected at the others to the reducing gear, whereby the motor, can be used for the simultaneous production of two drives at different speeds. In the form shown, the hollow shaft 3 of the rotor 2 is mounted in ball bearings 4 in the casing 1 and is coupled by the centrifugal clutch 5 to the internal shaft 6. the end 7 of which is connected, through the reducing gear 8, to the driving shaft 10. The Exterior of the centrifugal clutch 5 constitutes a pulley from which a belt drive can be taken at a speed different from that of the shaft 10. In a modification, the centrifugal clutch is enclosed in the casing and the internal shaft is mounted on the ball bearings, the coupled end projecting through the casing so that drives of two speeds can be obtained, one through the reducing gear and the other direct from the rotor.
