Abstract

Motor-cycles, tricars, and the like.-Comprises driving-gear more particularly for motorbicycles, of the kind in which the motor crankshaft revolves in one direction and the cylinders revolve in the other direction. Fig. 1 shows the invention applied to a bicycle, and Fig. 3 shows the gearing in detail. The crankshaft A drives a shaft D through spur gearing G, F, and a sleeve B, rotating with the motor cylinders, drives a shaft E through gearing I, H. The shafts D, E thus rotate in opposite directions, and are geared to the hub N of the cycle wheel through bevel gearing as shown, or right and left handed worm gearing may be used. A casing R surrounds part of the gearing, and is connected to tubes J which enclose the shafts D, E and form part of the cycle frame. The motor is provided with a fly-wheel S, and the exhaust gases are delivered to a casing T. The shafts D, E may be arranged on one side of the vehicle wheel, and may drive on opposite sides of the same bevel-wheel, or, where worm gearing is used, one worm may drive above and the other below a common worm-wheel.
