285,241. Rose, A. G., and Northern Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Feb. 1, 1927. Toothed gearing. - In gearing with aligned driving and driven shafts 2, 9 a worm 1 on the driving-shaft gears with a worm-wheel 10 on a shaft 11 at right-angles thereto and carrying worms 14, 15 gearing with worm-wheels 16, 17 on two shafts 18, 21, which are parallel with the main shaft and carry spur-wheels 24, 25 gearing with a wheel 8 on the shaft 9. The end of the shaft 2 enters a bearing-recess in the shaft 9. The gearing is arranged within a casing provided with a cover, bosses being provided to receive the bearings of the shafts, and except in the case of the shaft 11 each of the bearings is formed half in the body of the casing and half in the cover. Inspection covers, such as 28, are provided in the casing.
