Abstract

289,889. Bialy, B. May 6, 1927, [Convention date]. Thrashing-machines; hulling, husking, and decorticating.-In a disintegrating &c. machine comprising a closed casing in which is a disc with projections adapted to be rotated at high speed the disc 3 is provided with an aperture 6 at the centre and is fixed permanently on the axle by means of a boss or sleeve with vanes which act as a fan. Two or more discs of the same or different diameters may be used. The disc 3, provided with projections which may be in the form of a ring, or projections acting as rings or, as shown, as bars 5, rotates with a closed casing 2 provided with smooth internal surface. When the disc is revolving, the vanes 8 draw the air from one side of the disc to the other. The machines may be placed vertically or horizontally. When two discs are used one only may be provided with a central aperture and the outlet at the lower part of the machine is situated in the surface constituting the periphery of the casing and at the side opposite to the feeding aperture.
