Abstract

286,822. Whitbys, Ltd., and Shipway, S. P. Dec. 31, 1926. Garment stands.-A garment display stand comprises in combination a pillar, built up of a number of sections of tubing assembled upon a number of tubular sections of smaller diameter, a frame, for garment hangers, carried by a hub detachably and rotatably secured upon the upright and supporting legs radiating from the lower end of the pillar. In the construction shown the upright consists of a central tube 4, formed in two sections, and a number of outer tubular sections 6. A circular frame 3 is carried by arms 8 radiating from a central hub 9 rotatably arranged by ball bearings upon a sleeve which is detachably secured on the top of the tube 4 by a nut 17 and rests upon the top section 6. One or more sections 6 may be removed to permit one or more frames 3 being added at points along the upright. The legs 2 are bent as shown and welded to one of the outer sections 6. According to the provisional Specification the upright consists of a number of tubular sections connected together, means being provided to separate a pair of the sections for the insertion of a second rotatable frame.
