Abstract

289,366. Whitbys, Ltd., and Shipway, S. P. Jan. 26, 1928. Addition to 238,500. Garment stands. - The garment stand described in the parent Specification is modified in that the uprights b of the U-shaped frame and the hanging bar e are made detachable to facilitate packing. In the construction shown the uprights b are connected at c<1> to the lower part a of the frame by projecting lengths of tubing f inserted in the ends of the part a, preferably before they are bent, and adapted to fit in the lower ends of the uprights b. The hanging bar e is welded to short sleeves h which fit over split tubes j inserted within the uprights b and expanded by conical members o engaged by screws m with knobs n which rests on the ends of the sleeves h. When dismantled for packing the uprights b are detached and the sleeves h engaged with the projecting tubes f.
