Litters; ambulances.-In the stands for supporting stretchers in or securing them to road vehicles described in' the parent Specification the main beam is formed as a tube with which members, serving to secure the stretcher in position, are arranged so as to be capable of being displaced. The main beam 1 is formed as a tube into or on which bars 6 carrying the securing members 5, are adapted to telescope to vary the width required. The stretcher supports 4 or 4<1> are carried by the main beam 1 and the securing members 5 may be pivoted to the bars 6. Instead of the members 5. telescopic legs or feet 8 may be provided.
