Abstract
592,285. Adjustable chairs for children. DALLEY, A. C. J. April 23, 1945, No. 10173. [Class 52(ii)] An adjustable chair for a child or baby comprises a U-shaped frame 4, with upstanding legs 5 adapted to receive the telescopic ends 6 of a seat frame 1 bent upwardly at 8 to receive a back rest 3, the horizontal portion of the frame accommodating a seat 2. A seat 17 for a baby may be supported on rods 15, attached to slotted sleeves 21 held frictionally on the bars 8 by nuts 23, the rods 15 being extended to receive a sliding tray 18 which can be locked in position by a latch 19. A foot rest 10 is adjustable on the legs 5 by sleeves 11 and a transverse member 13 of the U-frame 4 may be made removable sc that the chair can be dismantled for storage. The ends of the seat frame may comprise rods which telescope into the seat frame to make the seat adjustable horizontally. The baby's seat 17 may he removed when the seat 2 is used for a child and a tray substituted.
