" 7 Application filed September "14, 1925. Serial No. 56,308.
This invention relatesto improvements in display stands especially designed for exhibiting large articles V and may be advantageously used for theat- 5 tracti've display of hardware, toy wagons,
'velocipedes or other wheeled toys.
Another object ofthe invention is the provision of a stand in which the parts are interchangeable, so that the stand may be used at different times to display different articles in an attractive manner, the article engaging or supporting means being adjustable relatively to accommodate the articles desired.
With the above and other objects in view,
thevinvention further lncludes the following novel features and details of construction,
to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the "accompanying drawings and 20 pointed out in the appended claim.
In the drawings Figure 1 is an elevation illustrating the display stand in use.
Figure 2 is a similar view showing different articles supported by the stand.
Figure 3 is adetail perspective view showing a fragmentary portionof the standard with the article supporting means extending therefrom.
Figure 4 is a detail perspective viewshowing a single arm bracket with a velocipede support attached thereto;
Figure 5 shows the support illustrated in Figure 4 arranged in a different manner.
Referring to the drawings in detail wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts, dicates a standard which is preferably of tubular construction and which rises from a base 11 of suitable shape and dimensions. If desired the standard may be surmounted by a cap which includes a flat plate 12 carried by a sleeve 13, the latter being removably attached to the upper end of the standard 10. This cap provides a support or rest for a wagon or other article 14 as shown in Figure 1 of the drawings.
Mounted upon the standard may be one or more brackets 15 which, as shown in Fi ure 1 of the drawings comprises a central y located sleeve 16 which receives the standard 10 and is vertically and rotatably adjusted thereon by means of a set screw 17. Extending from the sleeve 16 are oppositely dis- 55 posed arms 18 at the outer ends of which are of various characters .kiddy car 23 or a wagon 24 as the reference character 10 inprovided horizontally arranged sleeves'-=19. The sleeves '19 may receive horizontally disposed rods 20 and these rods are longitudi- 'nally adjustable in the sleevesand are held in adjusted position by set screws 21.; By :ad justing the rods 21 their lengths upon opposite sides of the arms 18 may be regulated so as to provide spaced parallel supporting arms of a desired length. This provides means for the support of a scooter 22 as shown in Figure 1 of the drawings, or a shown in Figure 2; The rods 20 may be of such length that one article may be supported upon each side of the standard by the same bracket. Where more than onebracket is used, they may be arranged in any desired position with respect to one another so as to display the articles supported thereby at different horizontal angles.
If desired brackets 15' having a single arm 18' as shown in Figure 4 may be employed, the said brackets 15 having horizontally disposed sleeves 19 at their outer ends. The
sleeves 19, or 19 may adjustably receive rods or arms 25 of substantially L-shape as shown in Figure 4, or'they may receive rods or arms 26 of substantially U-shape shown in Figure 5. The arm 26 in Figure 5 is shown as adjustably secured to a cap 13 which may be substituted for the cap 13, the said cap 13 being provided with a set screw 27 to hold the rod or arm 26 in place. Removably and adjustably secured to the outer ends of the rods 25 and 26 is a velocipede supporting member which includes a body 28 having an apertured ear or sleeve 29 to receive the rod 25 or I ably mounted thereon by means of a set screw 30. The velocipede supporting member further includes a substantially U shaped saddle 31 from which extends an arm 32, while the outer end of this arm is provided with an opening 33. In Figure 1 of the drawings a velocipede 34 is shown supported upon the standard 10 and by the L- shaped arm 25 with the rearwardly extending member 35 of the velocipede positioned within the saddle 31, while the saddle post 36 of the velocipede is passed through the opening 33. The velocipede is thus rigidly held in position in a manner to permit of its ready removal.
If desired, a cap for either the cap 13 or 13',
13 may be substituted the said cap 13 26 andis adjust being provided with a removable clamping section 37 to detachably hold in position a rod or bar 38. This rod or bar may be used for supporting the various articles.
The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form proportions and minor details of construction and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall Within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described the invention hat is claimed is A bracket adapted to be used with a vertical support comprising a sleeve adapted to be mounted for vertical and rotatable adjustment on the support and having a radial arm, said arm having at its end a terminal sleeve horizontally disposed, a second arm mounted in the horizontally disposed sleeve and being angular and capable for positioning with one of its stems extending downwardly or upwardly or horizontally in a general radial direction from the standard, means carried by the second sleeve for holding the second arm in any one of its aforesaid positions, a threaded sleeve on the stem JOSEPH W.
