Abstract
286,635. British Continental Motors, Ltd., (Assignees of Niven, A. M.). March 7, 1927, [Convention date]. Vaporizers, external.-In a sleeve-valve engine having inlet and exhaust manifolds 14, 24 on opposite sides of the cylinder block, a portion of the exhaust is conducted by passages 19 through a jacket 17 surrounding the junction of the induction pipe and the manifold 14. The passages 19 are opened by ports 28 or the main inlet ports in the sleeve valves. Baffles 23 direct the flow of exhaust. The exhaust may flow from the jacket 17 through a hole which is otherwise closed by a plug 31.
