Abstract

286,304. Schulze, G. March 4, 1927, [Convention date]. Fixed-abutment type; working-fluid supply.-A rotary internal-combustion engine comprises a rotor b with sliding vanes eccentrically situated in a casing a which is provided with inlet and outlet ports f, h situated opposite to the rotor axis, the inlet port f being nearer to the centre than to the circumference of the casing. The ergine shown has a spherical casing and a rotor of oval shape through a slot in which slides a circular vane-plate d packed at its periphery by a piston ring e; the rotor does not contact with the casing. The engine works on a two-stroke cycle the charge being drawn in through the inlet port f by suction arising from centrifugal action and the effect of the gases exhausting through the outlet port h, thereafter being compressed and expanding after ignition at the plug i.
