Abstract

135,778. Robertson, D. H., and Gregson, W. May 23, 1919. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Fixed - abutment type; movable - abutment type; packing drums; working-fluid supply.-In rotary internal-combustion engines in which an induction and compression rotor is keyed on the same shaft with a power rotor, the compression rotor c is eccentrically mounted in a chamber c, and the power rotor is concentrically mounted in a chamber d. The compressor comprises a rotor e with blades f, g held in contact with the walls of the chamber by a spring i. The charge is induced at the inlet o and compressed through the outlet p into a valve q, Fig. 5, by which the supply to the ignition chamber s, Fig. 2, is regulated. The plug r of the valve is held into a conical seating by a spring and is rotated by a spindle t', so that ports r' admit the fluid to the ignition chamber s. The power rotor comprises pistons k recessed at l, m and held in contact with the casing by springs n. The abutment comprises a flap valve B pivoted at B<1>, the free end bearing on the rotor. Exhaust takes place at C, D.
