271,268. Harvie, W. E., and Scott, S. E. June 26, 1926. Working-fluid supply; exhaust, facilitating. - In an internal-combustion engine, the compressed gas is led from a receiver 27 by means of pipes 28 to combustion chambers 22 in a rotor 20 secured to the turbine shaft 11. As the chambers 22 rotate the gases are ignited by sparking- plug 30 and delivered to the turbine through ports 25 in a fixed plate 24, the exhaust at the other end of the turbine being facilitated by a suction pump 31. The axial-flow turbine may be of the type wherein the casing 14 rotates in the opposite direction to the rotor. The quantity of mixture fed to the receiver 27 may be controlled by varying the stroke of the charging pump. The engine may also be controlled by shutting-off one or more valves 29.
