Abstract

286,273. Redding, O. D. March 2, 1927, [Convention date]. Closure members; seats.-Gate, lift, and other valves for use with high temperatures and pressures are provided with valve seating formed integral with a conical-shaped cage member 9, Fig. 1, or 27, Fig. 5. which fits the valve casing and is adjustably secured therein by an external nut 13 on a screwed projecting end 12. The cage member is shown in Fig. 5 shaped with passages and seating for a lift valve. Fig. 1 shows the arrangement for a sliding wedge valve 14. This valve is provided with guide grooves 24, Fig. 4, co-operating with guide ribs in the casing to prevent rotation, and with adjustable faces 20 secured by central screwed studs 21.
