Abstract
285,649. Trier, V. A. Feb. 19, 1927. Vehicle lamps, directing.-In control devices for flexible transmission mechanism for actuating dipping headlights'on motor vehicles, a disc or drum B to which the flexible cable is attached is rotatably mounted in a suitable housing C on a pin or bolt E, the actuating lever A being mounted on the same pivot and yieldingly pressed against the disc by a leaf or like spring H so that a tooth or lug A<1> thereon normally engages a ratchet toothed quadrant D secured to the periphery of the housing. The lever is connected to the disc by a. pin F engaging one of a number of holes G. The pin may be secured in the disc as shown, or to the lever. In the latter case, to adjust the connection the bolt E is slackened.
