Abstract

284,355. Gros, A. Jan. 29, 1927, [Convention date]. Stands or supports for vehicles.-Lifting is effected by means of a lever 17 pivotally connected to the axle 1 and fulcrumed at 18 on a pedestal 19, power being applied by means of a handle 28 and shaft 23 located near the driver. The pedestal is raised and lowered by means of a lever 30. In an alternative form the lever 17 is' directly connected to a lever similar to the lever 30. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a device Fig. 1 (Cancelled) in which a screwed spindle 4 engages at one end a bracket 3 fixed to an axle 1; the other end 5 bears upon a ground plate 7. When a handle 15 operating a shaft 10 is turned, a worm 9 on the shaft drives a wheel 8 on the shaft 4 causing the plate 7 to be lowered to the ground and then the axle to be raised. In a modified form of this device a nut on the spindle 4 is enclosed between two arms on the bracket- This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
