[Class 79 (iii)] For raising and turning a motor vehicle within its own length, a fluid-pressure jack a is mounted thereon at or near the centre of gravity of the vehicle, a supporting member or foot d, preferably with a rubber &c. gripping pad e, being attached to the lower end of the plunger rod c whilst, above the jack, the plunger rod carries a slidably keyed pinion f meshing with a smaller pinion g on a vertical spindle journalled on the chassis and provided with a hand wheel h within reach of the driver so that, after the vehicle has been lifted by admitting fluid to the jack, it may, by the hand gearing, be rotated about the foot member as a pivot.
