Abstract

254,860. Harding, H. T. June 8, 1925. Axles.-A device for enabling Ford cars with broken rear axles to be towed consists of a disc J integral with a spindle H (for the spare wheel) on which are carried a fixed cone F and a movable cone E for ball bearings. The flange is secured to the axle casing by means of the original radius rod bolts B and a bolt A taking into the brake shoe bolt hole. The brake parts are secured in position by the bolt A, thus enabling the wheel to be braked during towing.
