Pendulum-weight apparatus.-In a weighing apparatus of the pen. dulum-weigbt type the knife-edge of the pendulum lever rests on e bearing which moves substantially in synchronism with, and in the same direction as the knife edge. A lever 8 distributes the pull due to a load on the platform between twc bands 9, 10 in substan. tially equal proportions. The band 10, acting on a segment 7, deflects a pendulum weight 6 secured to a hub 5 actuating two pointers to indicate higher and lower orders of weight respectively. The hub 5 is mounted by means of a knife-edge 2 on a bearing carried by a shaft 1 supported in ball-bearings. The band 9 actuates a pendulum weight 3, or a spring, connected to the shaft 1 and thus gives the bearing of the knife-edge 2 a rotation substantially the same as the knife-edge itself and permits of a large angle of deflection of the pendulum whilst maintaining a high sensibility.
