Abstract
282,049. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Dec. 13, 1926, [Convention date]. Addition to 237,716. Carbon disulphide.- In preparing carbon disulphide as described in the parent Specification, a superheater B for sulphur vapours is arranged in the furnace chamber which contains the reaction chamber A containing carbon. Sulphur from a melting-vessel passes through a vessel C to the superheater B in which vapours are formed and superheated to the reaction temperature prior to entering the base of the reaction chamber. The superheater may be a coil surrounding the chamber A, or, where the chamber is heated internally by electrical means, may be located within the chamber.
