Extracts, making.-Apparatus for making solutions comprises a vessel 1 in which is mounted a container consisting of concentric perforated metal or like drums 7, 8 integral with a stirrer 6 which may be surrounded by filtering material and are provided with blades 9 to effect circulation. The material to be dissolved is fed by a shoot 4, and the solution is withdrawn at an outlet 10. A modification comprises a horizontal rotary drum in a horizontal cylindrical vessel. The operation may be continuous, and a number of drums may be used in series.
