Abstract

An animal food is prepared by subjecting oil bearing nuts or seeds such as ground nuts to a slicing or scraping operation and then mixing with ground dried extracted beet pulp. The product may then be subjected to further disintegration. The slicing or scraping may be performed by introducing the nuts between a cylindrical surface provided with openings having punched-up walls and a co-operating plane surface or cylindrical casing: the perforated cylinder is rotated about an axis at a slight angle to the horizontal.
