Abstract

279,750. Tomiska, A. Aug. 5, 1926. Breech actions, drop-down barrel. - A dropdown gun wherein the barrels are mounted in a body which is hinged to the breech-body by trunnions, has the barrels or barrel body formed with borings co-axial with the barrels and adapted, when the gun is locked, to receive sliding breech-bolts which also form locking bolts. As shown, the breech-bolts 6 mounted in the breech body 4 of an under-and-over gun are adapted to enter borings in the barrels and are operated by a vertical locking spindle 10 passing through the bolts. The firing pins are formed in two coaxial portions 18, 19 mounted in the bolts and in the locking-spindle respectively, so that they form an operative whole only when the breech is locked.
