Abstract
278,648. Yoder-Morris Co., (Assignees of Morris, H. I.). Oct. 11, 1926, [Convention date]. Movable-abutment type; working-fluid supply. -The relative motion of the pistons of a gearedvane type of rotary engine is obtained by a single set of links forming a set bodily movable about the axis of rotation and connected to the pistons by two arms fixed on' the shaft and sleeve shaft which carry the pistons; the pivots of the linkage at one side have devices which traverse a single camway to effect the deformation of the linkage to give the relative piston movement, and at the other side have devices traversing guides to transform the movement into a uniform movement of the driven shaft. The two sets of pistons are mounted on nested shafts 12, 13 which have keyed thereto arms 15, 18 jointed to the mid-points of a parallelogram linkage 27 - - 30 the corner pins 32 of which carry rollers 33 at one side which run in a cam groove 25 on the fixed end wall of the engine casing and rollers 24 on the other side which run in guides 23 cut at right-angles in the face of a flywheel 22 keyed on the main driving shaft. 19. The pistons may be formed with conical hub members.
