Abstract

226,293. Christiansen, E. Sept. 22, 1923. Pie - moulding machines. - A machine for moulding pie casings &c. comprises a moulding tool 4 and a cutter tool 12 slidablv mounted thereon, both of which are operated directly from a driving shaft 7, which is arranged at right-angles to the axis of the moulding tool. The moulding tool 4 is coupled to a crank pin 8 on the shaft 7 by means of a connecting rod 3 and link 9, while the cutter 12 may be operated by two cams 13, located on each side of the crank pin through the medium of rods 14 and a sleeve 18 bearing thereon. The rods 14 are connected to the sleeve 18 through springs 21, so that the cutter tool is pressed into the moulding tins with a resilient pressure, while rollers 15 provided on the rods 14 are retained pressed against the cams 13 by a spring 16, fixed at one end in the bore of the connecting rod 3, and at the other end to a pin 17 carried by the sleeve 18. The two tools form a self-contained unit which is fixed to the connecting rod 3 as described in Specification 193,284, and is prevented from rotating by a locking pin fixed to the sleeve 18.
