Cams.-In leather-working machines of the kind in which axial reciprocating motion is imparted to a rotary tool a by means of a rotary cam 15 with an inclined face 16 actuating a lever 10 in opposition to a spring 12, a roller 20 with its periphery bevelled to correspond with the inclination of the cam face 16, is mounted on the end of the lever so as to be free to rock in a plane at right-angles to its plane of rotation to enable it to bear evenly upon the cam face. For this purpose the roller 20 is freely mounted upon a pin 22 carried in a frame 23 which is pivotally supported on transversely arranged trunnions 26 in a yoke 24 attached to the lever 10 by a bolt 25 or other means, the yoke 24 being offset so that the axis of the trunnions 26 lies between the cam face and the pin 22 carrying the roller.
