Regulating delivery by acccumulator connected to pump barrel.-The parent Specification describes means for varying the capacity of a reservoir or accumulator placed between the fuel pump and the injection valve of an internal-combustion engine. According to the invention, the means are brought into action by an external agent, e.g. by mechanism controlled by the governor. As shown in Fig. 1, as the load on the engine increases, the lowering of the weights of the governor 22 opens a valve 25 connecting the reservoir 17 with an additional reservoir 18, and on a further increase of load a second valve is opened to put a third reservoir (not shown) into communication with the reservoir 17.
