Abstract

277,233. Thieslack, E. March 4, 1927. Casting-machines. - A die-casting machine having a submerged forcing chamber 1, Fig. 2, is provided with a tubular member 4 which surrounds the part 3 in which the inlet 2 is formed. The member 4 is operated by a hand lever or by a piston 15 and compressed air from a bottle 11. A lever 18, moving with the member 4, actuates a valve 24 to admit. compressed air from a bottle 22 to the chamber 1 and force a charge of metal into the mould. The valves 12, 24 are of the kind that connect the pipes 13, 23 to exhaust when the compressed air is shut off. The lever 21 of the valve 24 has a trip piece 20 to allow the lever 18 to return to its original position. In a modification, the member 4 has a port 30, Fig. 3, and is rotated.
