277,035. Haltenberger, J. Jan. 9, 1926, [Convention date]. Valve gear; regulating.-Sleeve valves 17 are given a combined oscillating and reciprocating movement by a valve shaft 20 formed with inclined or wobble cranks 21, which are connected by rods 22 to levers 25 fulcrumed at 30 and connected at 28 to the valves. The connections 24, 28, and 30 are ball joints, and the lever 25 slides through the ball 28. In a modification, the shaft 20 is arranged above the lever 25. Adjustment of the fulcrum of the lever 25, either for setting the valve or regulating the timing, is effected as described in Specification 264,132, by a pair of eccentric members 35, 37, or by a single eccentricmounting.
