Abstract

129,270. Aktiebolaget Wigelius Motorer. June 28, 1918, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Regulating; valve-gear. - An angularly adjustable cam, intended more particularly for the air or fuel valve, is so arranged that, on adjustment, the lift and duration of opening of the valve are altered, but the time of opening, and preferably also the movement of the valve during the earlier part of the opening period, are unaltered. For this purpose, the cam 3 is mounted on feathers 4 on an eccentric 2 keyed to the shaft 1, and the cam is adjusted about the centre of the eccentric by sliding the eccentric along the shaft. The part of the cam-surface which effects the initial movement of the valve is an arc of a circle struck from the centre of the eccentric. Other shapes of cam may be used, and the eccentric may also be adjustable on threads on the shaft. The cam acts on the valve through a rocking lever 9.
