Abstract

274,726. Ellis, F. G., and Chantry, H. R. Jan. 11, 1927. Securing flywheels, propeller bosses, &c. on shafts.-A flywheel, propeller boos, &c. is formed with an eccentric portion to fit over a similar portion on the shaft, a nut being threaded on the shaft, and having abutments to engage the wheel boss for pressing on. or drawing off, the wheel from the shaft. The invention is shown applied to a vehicle wheel. The axle 1 is formed with a flanged eccentric part 2, ever which the eccentric hub 4 is fitted. The hub 4 is secured to the axle by a nut 8 which is threaded on a spigot 9 of the axle and has abutments 10, 14, the abutment 10 being adapted to press the hub 4 on to the axle, and the abutment 14 engaging an annular ledge 15 on the hub 4 to withdraw the hub from the axle. A locking nut 12 is preferably fitted on an extension 13 of the spigot 9.
