Abstract

274,467. Prokasky, A. July 14, 1926, [Convention date]. Drilling-machines. - In a machine for boring and drilling glass and other hard materials the drill-spindle 3 is rotated continuously by a rope drive and is simultaneously given a reciprocating movement. The driving rope 4 passes over a hand or power driven pulley (not shown), over two parallel guide pulleys 5 and round a pulley 7 keyed to the spindle 3. A small pulley on the shaft 10 of the pulley 5 drives a shaft 15 through a rope 13, the shaft carrying an eccentric 17 on which lies an arm 18 clamped to a lever 20 attached to the spindle 3 by a screw 30 entering an annular groove in the spindle. The lever 20 carries an adjustable weight 21 and is pivoted at 22 to a link 23 pivoted to an arm 25 supported by a bracket 28 on the machine frame.
