Abstract
272,012. Igranic Electric Co., Ltd., and Spaink, J. H. Abbink-. April 30, 1926. Electromagn e t i c switches.-Contactors for alternating currents have a pair of auxiliary contacts 3 which are closed when the main contacts ara upon so that when current is supplied, a portion of the energizing coil between points a, b is energized this portion possessing a small enough reactance to allow sufficient current to flow to produce the operation of the contactor. When the main contacts close a circuit through the whole of the operating coil 1 between points b, c is completed by auxiliary contacts 2 the decreased current due to the increased reactance of the circuit being enough, however, to maintain the contactor in the closed position.
