Abstract

266,874. Oglethorpe, E. L., and Dartford Engineering & Carriage Co., Ltd. Jan. 27, 1926. Partitioned and cellular boxes.-A metal crate for bottles &c. comprises a base 10 having a number of bottle-receiving depressions 11, an intermediate support 15 provided with aligned apertures 16, and a metal framework in which the base and support are held in spaced relationship. The base 10 and support 15 are of sheet metal and the depressions 11 in the base are frustroconical in shape to accommodate different sized bottles. The depressions 11 may be beaded at 12 to support the bases of bottles. Tubular distance-pieces 9, 14, 17 are provided in the framework to hold the parts in spaced relationship. Angle-pieces 19 are provided on the inside corners of the top portion of the crate to facilitate stacking, and the transverse bars 3, 5 of the framework are centrally arched so that the riveted ends 18 of the frame-bars are in alignment.
