Catches, automatic; hasp locks; stud-and-slot fastenings.-A snap lock comprises a hook-ended projection engaging in a casing and locked by a spring-pressed catch with a partly bevelled head, operated by a key through a pivoted lever. The casing c is formed by bending a sheet metal stamping and contains the lever-mechanism b by which the key rocks the lever c to depress the catch d to release the hook-like member n. When the member n is thrust into the slot o in the lock casing, the bevel q coacts with the bevelled part m of the catch d for automatic engagement. The lever e acts in the unbevelled part g of the catch for release. The catch is pressed upwards by the spring l and its motion is limited by the stop and lug k.
