[Class 44] A hasp lock of the kind described in Specification 592,077 has a sheet metal bolt 1 which is locked by a lever 10 moving transversely across the bolt so that a projection thereon engages in a recess in the face of the bolt, the lever being held in alternative locking or unlocked positions by a pawl element 9 having V-shaped teeth co-operating with similarly shaped teeth on the lever, with a spring to press the lever into engagement. The bolt 1 is in the form of a rectangular plate with a projecting part 2 which engages the hasp, and is formed with an upstanding flange 3. The spring 8 of U-form is housed between the bolt and the back plate of the lock and bears on the pawl element 9 and on the flange of the bolt. The lever 10, operated by a key, has a half tooth 11 and a full V-tooth 12 so that it can engage the pawl element in two positions. The lug 13 on the lever enters a slot 14 in the bolt to lock it when the lever is moved to locking position. The safety device has an outer annular knob stamping 19 with opposed ears 21 and inwardly directed lugs 22. The keyhole part 24 fits centrally in the knob part and carries two lugs 18 which are passed through holes in the bolt and bent over. The knob 19 can rotate until the lugs 22 engage the lugs 18 on the keyhole part, in which position a lug inside the knob engages a part on the lock body which prevents it from sliding to release the bolt.
