Check lift valves.-A non-return valve for use on air compressors and of the type comprising an annular lift valve member adapted to work between a seat and a spring supported guard has the guard j provided with an annular recess r to accommodate one or more concentrically arranged loading springs q. The annular valve member p is housed between a removable valve seat d and ported guard j held in position by nuts h engaging studs g screwed to the valve seat. Thimbles k on the studs hold the guard the required distance from the seat and also guide the valve member. The thimbles may be recessed at m to receive a strengthening flange on the guard. Springs o surrounding the nuts h bear against a cover b to hold the valve unit in place. Specification 256,705 is referred to.
