Abstract
660,184. Non-return valves. BANKS, E. H. Aug. 24, 1949. 21977/49. Class 135. A non-return valve assembly for a compressor comprises a flanged cup-shaped body member c adapted to fit into the open top of the compressor cylinder, a disc valve seating on rings h surrounding the passage g through the floor of the body member, and a loading spring n for the valve disc, the spring being disposed around a stem m projecting downwardly from a plug k which fits into the upper end of the body c and is provided with apertures p. The valve disc j is of steel. The body member is held down on the cylinder by bolts e which also position a stop valve q, gaskets r, s, ensuring fluid-tightness at the joints, but the body member may be held down by a pipe union, or, along with plug k, it may screw into position.
